After all that rocking and rolling in the city, why not be a little bit country and attend the Noosa Country Show.
Since 1909, the Pomona Showground has been the home of Queensland’s premier traditional country show.
The Noosa Country Show features live entertainment, rides, sideshows for both young and old, fireworks, night rodeo and animal nursery.
Horse events can also be witnessed for a full two days. Experience creative craft, photography, art, cookery and woodcraft.
The showground also features a slew of community and club events – a popular stopping point for motor home travelers.
The Most Loveable Muttley show is where dogs will be judged in three categories namely large, medium and small. If you want your dog to take part in this event, make sure to fill an entry form and be at the Dog Show area at 3:00pm. Dogs must be on a leash.
Apiculture gives bee-keepers the opportunity to show-off their products. Bees wax, honeycomb, bees wax and art will also be on show.
Creative Challenge is where competitors can use a table centerpiece or runner and from there, come up with the best use of a piece from the same fabric.
Demonstrations and a slew of craft skills ranging from patch-work, knitting, spinning and cross-stitch can be seen.
An art exhibition from the volunteers of the Pomona Railway Station Art Gallery will be organizing the art works the theme of which is H2O – water being essential for life.
The Fruits and Veggies section is where young gardeners – primary school student groups or an individual student - can step up and produce the best box of vegetables. The contest will be sponsored by the Pomona Fruit and Veggie Market.
