Nine days of live music, good food, and family fun awaits this July with Noosa Alive! 2018. Presented by Noosa Long Weekend, Noosa Alive! takes place in one of the Sunshine Coast’s most scenic locations, and is known as the premier regional performing arts and culture festival in Australia. The picturesque Noosa Heads comes alive over a nine-day period with Noosa Alive!, which will showcase everything to do with performing arts and culture for all ages to enjoy. Make sure to be in Noosa Heads this July.
Noosa Alive! was founded in 1996 by Australian playwright David and author Kristin Williamson, along with a group of likeminded artists and visionaries including renowned violinist Brett Dean, activist Michael Gloster, and restaurateur Leonie Palmer-Fisher together with Rick Clayton and Ros McCauley. This group of friends knew the picturesque Noosa Heads was the perfect setting for a huge cultural event, which soon became known as Noosa Alive!
This year’s Noosa Alive! will feature a number of unmissable events offering live music, dancing, literature, cabaret, theatre, visual arts, film, and more; set to take place in the venues and streets of Noosa Heads.
This winter get your fill of live music at Noosa Alive! with Orchestral Music comes alive!, Late Nights & After Dinner Mints, Livvy & Pete: The Songs of Olivia Newton-John and Peter Allen, IDA Girls, Straight from the Hart, Katie Noonan & Michael Leunig, and more. For cabaret-lovers, make sure to see A Vaudeville Affair and Carlotta: Queen of the Cross. For theatre, don’t miss Disenchanted, Marjorie Prime, and the One Act Play Festival. There will also be special dance performances with Queensland Ballet Alive! and The Street Party - Carnival of Colour, as well as exclusive appearances from famous authors Diana Thompson, Sara Dowse, and Dorothy Johnston. Visual art exhibits to see include No Human Being Is Illegal, Connect 3, and Mood and Mind + Unearth, as well as a featured film showing of Paris Can Wait, in association with Slow Food Noosa. There will also be a fireworks display with Fire in the Sky, and lots of good food to get your hands on throughout the event!
